AUGUST ACTIVITIES

On the first Tuesday of August, citizens, law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies, community groups, businesses and local officials will come together in Orland’s Library Park to celebrate ‘National Night Out ,” starting at 6:00 PM.

The annual ‘National Night Out’ in Orland is sponsored and hosted by the VIPS. Informational booths will be set up by a number of community organizations providing educational material for Orland’s citizens on health issues, public safety, and home security. Join us in celebrating’ National Night Out’ with food, fun and music.

Special events will be live music donated by Whitewater Band, dunk tank, chalk art by the Glenn County Fair Queen and her court, face painting, a bounce house and raffle prizes.

Orland residents will have the opportunity to meet and greet their neighbors, get to know what services are available from a variety of city and county offices, and have some fun all at the same time. It is designed to:

  • Heighten crime, drug, and violence prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs such as the Orland VIPS;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships;
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know we are fighting back to make Orland a safer place to live.

Come join us for a fun evening!
